Three Haiku - For Clarinet Choir

Three Haiku fulfils Jeffery Wilson's long held desire to compose for Clarinet choir. He was particularly pleased to be able to involve his love of the Japanese art form – Haiku – with the simplicity and emotional directness of the texts. Testament – Saxophone Concerto
Having played the Saxophone for around 50 years now it seemed timely to compose a concerto for this most iconic instrument.
I have a genuine respect and affection for the Saxophone yet believe that as with any musical instrument it is the personality, conviction and artistry of the musician that truly matters.
‘Testament’ casts the soloist in the role of the individual in society and the orchestra as the larger community.
Here are Rob Buckland and the Docklands Sinfonia under Spencer Down giving the premiere.
